Okay, Let Me Explain Dr. McNinja To You and Why It Rules

Okay, the other day I pointed you to a web comic I read. The only one I read without explaining why you should check it out. So let me sell you on this series called the Adventures of Dr. McNinja.

Now, if you haven't noticed I'm a bit down on DC though I buy mostly from them. All the needless killing, event lead ins, aftermathes, and creative changes has really burnt me out. Not to say their not publishing good titles, they are, but theres a lot of stuff making me angry. Come on, DC, why did you kill Big Barda? Just because you could? You fake Green Arrows eath, bring him back, and now plan on killing someone from his supporting cast? Pathetic. As for Marvel, well, I don't know-I just don't really care.

Basically Dr. McNinja gives me something that is hard to find in mainstream comics, hell, even indy comics at times: fun, humourous, action-packed stories. I don't why that is, that the mainstream companies have a hard time getting behind books that are genuinly fun or why they like to beat the comedy out of characters. Indy books I'm sure have a number of titles like this. Except with indy ocmics you have to deal with the unknown shipping times and the creators desire to stick with his title. I've seen indy creators ditch their titles for mainstream or bigger projects. Or titles just start and fall of the map.

Dr. McNinja is a title that has a new page up every monday, wedensday, and friday. Soemtimes, if the creator misses a day they sometimes post two pages on the following update day.

But enough about the fact Dr. McNinja has proven reliable thus far and that its apperently fun and action apcked-what's it about you ask. Well, it's about a ninja whose also a doctor. There, done! But I'll be mroe specific for you.

Dr. McNinja is about a member of the McNinja clan. A clan of ninajs from Irish descent. The good doctor decided at a young age he'd be inetrested in medicine and went through medical school to be a docotor despite the negative feedback from his parents. Dr. McNinja is a huge Batman fan! Dr. McNinja is also a type of vigilantie in Maryland.

His supporting acst includes his father Dan, his mother Mitzi, his brother Dark Smoke Puncher, his receptionist gorilla Judy, his sidekick the teenage Mexican Bandti Gordito and his velociraptor Yoshi, the clone of Ben Franklin and the good mayor Chuck Goodrich! Thats quite a cast of characters.

The series sticks to comedy but there are elements of comedy including his conflicted emotions to kill and heal. Also the tension between him and his family from time to time. Lots of big action scenes. If you like atcion comcis, bam.

I'll outline the first few stories for you because after #3 the plotlines/subplots all get more complex. Ora s complex as a comedy-action series can get.

In issue , done as a school project, Dr. McNinja goes up against Ronald McDonald due to the creation of the McNinja burger.

So What is a McNinja follows with an introduction of the McNinja family during the holiday of Katanaka, which they celebrate on Thanksgiving. Turns into a good old pirates vs. ninja story. Got some Ninja Turtle shout outs for fans with a keen eye and other great comedy moments. Also a Frank Miller style moment for those of us who know Frank Millers work. The alt text also has a couple pages talking about comic legend Walt Simonson as he was one of the creators professors in school.

There! I probably did a terrible job of selling the book but whatever-screw you then!
